This level focuses on developing basic skills in reading and writing Hangeul and using simple sentences and everyday expressions for basic communication. Application Process
- Counseling & Course Selection
Consult with a Trenvl planner or refer to the Ewha Language Center website to decide semester, level, and study plan. - Online Application & Document Preparation
Create an account on the Ewha Language Center online system (ATOM) and fill out the application form.
Prepare and upload/submit required documents such as passport copy, ID photo, and certificate of final education. - Document Screening & Admission Result
Ewha Language Center reviews your documents and informs you of the result (via email or online system). - Payment of Tuition
Pay the admission fee and tuition within the announced deadline (dormitory fees are paid separately if applicable). - Visa Application & Pre-arrival Preparation
Receive visa-related documents such as the Certificate of Admission, if needed, and apply for a D-4 visa; book your flight. - Arrival, Placement Test & Orientation
Arrive in Korea → Attend Ewha Language Center orientation and take the placement test → Start classes.
Completion & Promotion Criteria (Intensive Program)
Completion Requirements
- Attendance: At least 80% of total class days (at least 40 out of 50 days for a 10-week semester)
- Grades: Minimum overall average of 70 points and at least 60 points in each skill (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
Promotion & Completion Notes
- Students must meet both attendance and grade requirements to be promoted to the next level.
- In certain cases (repeated failure, violation of academic regulations, etc.), enrollment for the next semester may be restricted.
- Students who complete at least two semesters of the Intensive Program (Levels 1–6) and finish Level 6 are recognized as graduates of the ELC Intensive Korean Program.
Refund Policy (Intensive Program – Summary)
- The admission fee (Application Fee) is generally non-refundable.
- The eligibility and percentage of tuition refunds depend on the time of the refund request (before or after the start of the semester and days elapsed).
- The official refund policy for each semester is based on the Ewha Language Center notices and FAQ.
- In special cases such as visa refusal, a separate refund policy may apply upon submission of supporting documents.
