As you ascend along the trail, you will find yourself in a dense forest of birch trees that are more than 20 years old. The white trunks and glistening leaves make it look like snow has fallen, and the birch forests reaching up to the sky give off an exotic scent.

The best way to enjoy the beauty of Seoraksan is to take the Seoraksan Cable Car. The cable car boarding area is located within the Seoraksan National Park sub-park, and it takes about 10 minutes to reach Gwongeumseong Fortress, which is 700 meters above sea level. Tickets must be purchased for a round trip, as one-way travel is not possible. While traveling by cable car, you can see many famous spots such as Ulsan Rock and Manmul Statue through the glass windows.

Gwongeumseong Fortress is a 2,100-meter acid castle built around a wide stone floor of 80 rooms 800 meters up a sheer stone mountain in Seorak-dong Small Park. The date of the castle's construction is difficult to determine as there are no reliable records. However, it is said to have been built by two merchants, the Kwon and Kim clans, in the Silla Dynasty to escape from a famine.

It was founded by Jajangyulsa in the 6th year of Queen Jindeok of Silla (652) and was initially called Hyangseongsa Temple. It was burned down several times afterward, but in the 22nd year of the 16th Joseon Dynasty (1644), three monks, Yeongseo, Yeonok, and Hye-won, had the same dream and built a temple on the current site, and the temple was named Shinheungsa Temple because it was established after receiving a revelation from God.

1-4 When evacuees from the Hamgyong Island area who followed the national army southward during the retreat found themselves without a way to return to their homes after the war, they built houses and formed a collective community on a vacant beach near the armistice line.

Yeonggeumjeong is located on the beach under the Sokcho Lighthouse in Dongmyeong-dong, Sokcho-si, with large and wide rocks. The place is called Yeonggeumjeong because when the waves hit the rocks, a mysterious rhythmic sound is heard, which is said to be like the sound of a divine "lyre". It is located a short distance from the city center and has an excellent scenery, so Sokcho residents enjoy vacationing and fishing all year round.

This is one of the top 8 scenic spots in Sokcho. The pure white exterior of the lighthouse and the blue sea that surrounds it look like a picture. Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory was originally a lighthouse, but now it is open to the public and serves as an observatory. Climb the wooden deck trail through the bamboo forest to reach the observatory. Standing on the observatory, you can take in the deep indigo color of the East Sea, Cheongcho Lake where migratory birds fly over, and the beautiful scenery of Seoraksan Mountain, which is surrounded by folding screens.

In Gangwon-do, a province with many poultry farms in the past, the spicy and sweet chicken Gangjeong has long been a staple of local tourism, along with Chuncheon's chicken ribs. Made with crispy fried chicken and tossed in a sauce made with jocheong and cheongyang chili peppers, dakgangjeong is popular among young and old alike because it stays crispy even when cooled and doesn't have a distinctive meaty odor.
