This guide provides information for overseas applicants wishing to enroll in the Keimyung University Korean Language Program. Please review eligibility requirements, application procedures, required documents, tuition & fees, and contact information carefully.
1. Eligibility
- Overseas applicants who have completed high school (or higher) at the time of application.
- Applicants who can submit all required original documents; documents in languages other than Korean or English must be translated and notarized.
- Applicants able to obtain an appropriate visa (e.g., D-4 Korean language training visa) and without disqualifying reasons for staying in Korea.
- Applicants who agree to comply with Keimyung University regulations, Korean immigration laws, and attendance requirements of the Korean Language Program.
2. Admission Procedure
- Complete the application form and prepare all required documents.
- Submit the application and documents (by post, in person, or as instructed by Keimyung University).
- Document screening by Keimyung University (additional documents may be requested if necessary).
- Notification of admission result to each applicant individually.
- Payment of tuition via the virtual account issued to the admitted applicant.
- Issuance of Certificate of Admission and final confirmation of enrollment.

Level 1 Korean Language Regular Course Curriculum (Beginner)
Level 1 at Keimyung University Korean Language Program is designed for beginners with little or no prior experience in Korean. Students start with Hangul, basic pronunciation, simple sentence patterns, and everyday expressions. They practice essential communication skills for greetings, self-introductions, shopping, transportation, and campus life in Daegu.
1. Learning Objectives
- Learn and use essential beginner-level vocabulary and grammar structures for Level 1.
- Communicate in simple daily situations using short sentences (greetings, self-introduction, shopping, etc.).
- Read and write Hangul accurately and understand basic written texts related to everyday life.
- Introduce oneself and provide basic personal information, including nationality, hobbies, and daily routines.
2. Course Contents
- Pronunciation: Hangul consonants and vowels, basic syllable structure, batchim (final consonants), simple sound changes, and basic intonation for statements and questions.
