Myongji University Korean Language Education Center – Regular Korean Language Program Admission Guide
This guide is for students who wish to apply for the regular Korean language program at Myongji University Korean Language Education Center (KLEC). Please review the eligibility, required documents, admission procedures, tuition fees, and contact information carefully before applying.
1. Eligibility
- Applicants who have a high school diploma or higher (or are expected to graduate by the time of program start).
- Applicants whose last graduation is within 2 years at the time of application.
※ Applicants who graduated more than 2 years ago must submit supplemental documents explaining the blank period (e.g., employment or career certificates, language training certificates, etc.). - Applicants who can submit proof of final education according to the regulations of their home country (Apostille or consular confirmation, as applicable).
- Applicants who have no disqualifying reasons for studying Korean and staying in Korea under Korean immigration law.
2. Admission Procedure
- Complete the online application form on the Myongji University KLEC website and submit it.
- Prepare all required documents and send them to the Seoul campus office by post (originals) and/or upload scans as instructed.
- The university reviews the documents and announces admission results online.
- Admitted applicants pay the application fee and tuition fee (via Flywire or other designated methods).
- Myongji University issues the Certificate of Admission and other documents for visa application.

4. Admission Regulations (Summary)
- If any submitted document is found to be false or forged, admission may be canceled and completion/grades invalidated.
- Submitted documents will not be returned, regardless of admission results.
- Visa screening is conducted separately by the Korean Immigration Office and Korean Embassies/Consulates. Admission to the program does not guarantee visa issuance.
- Applicants from certain countries must register for at least 1 year (4 semesters) for a D-4-1 visa, according to Korean immigration regulations.
- Only applicants whose original documents arrive at the KLEC Seoul campus within the registration period will be considered valid applicants; otherwise, the application will be automatically cancelled.

Level 1 – Regular Korean Language Program Curriculum (Beginner)
At Level 1, students learn the basics of Korean pronunciation and core sentence patterns, focusing on everyday expressions needed for campus life and daily communication in Korea.
