    The third tunnel was discovered inside the DMZ on October 17, 1978, based on intelligence from North Korean tunnelers in Guisun, North Korea. It is believed to be located 1.2 kilometers west of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and extends 1.6 kilometers south through a rock layer averaging 73 meters underground.

    It is located at the northernmost point of the Western Front Military Demarcation Line. It is a unified security tourist destination established by the Ministry of National Defense in 1986 with a project cost of about 300 million won after the closure of the Songaksan OP (Observation Post). It has been open to the public since January 1987.

    Imjingak Peace Park in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, is a complex cultural space built within Imjingak on the occasion of the 2005 World Peace Festival.\r\nThe park was created to transform Imjingak, a symbol of division and the Cold War, into a symbol of reconciliation, coexistence, and peaceful reunification.
