My Love from the Star begins with a curious record in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, Book 20, which mentions sightings of unidentified flying objects across several regions in 1609. Based on this, the drama imagines an alien who settled in Korea at that time and now lives in Seoul 400 years later. The love story between the alien Do Min-jun (played by Kim Soo-hyun) and the superstar Cheon Song-yi, who seems even more eccentric than an alien, created irresistible chemistry that captivated viewers. Thanks to its charm, the drama consistently maintained high ratings of 20–30%, with memorable lines and stunning scenes that became iconic.
