Kyungsung University Korean Language Center – Admission Guidelines
This guide provides information for international applicants who wish to enroll in the Kyungsung University
Korean Language Center (KLC). Please carefully review the eligibility criteria, application procedures,
required documents, tuition & fees, and contact information.
1. Eligibility
- International applicants who have completed high school (or equivalent) at the time of application
- Applicants who can submit all required original documents; documents not in Korean or English must be translated and notarized
- Applicants who are able to obtain a valid visa for language study in Korea (e.g., D-4 visa) and have no legal restrictions on staying in Korea
- Applicants who agree to comply with Kyungsung University regulations, Korean immigration laws, and attendance requirements of the Korean Language Center
- Applicants who are committed to intensive Korean language study with a minimum 80% attendance requirement
2. Admission Procedure
- Complete the application form and prepare all required documents
- Submit the application and documents (in person, by mail, or email) to the Kyungsung University Language Education Center
- Document screening by Kyungsung University (additional documents may be requested)
- Notification of admission result to each applicant individually
- Payment of tuition via the designated bank account
- Issuance of Certificate of Admission and final confirmation of enrollment (for visa application if needed)
- Apply for D-4 student visa at Korean Embassy/Consulate (for applicants outside Korea)
- Arrival in Korea and attend orientation at Kyungsung University

※ Application fees are generally non-refundable even if admission is unsuccessful; submitted documents are not returned.
※ The application deadlines represent the time that all application documents must be completed with the tuition paid in full.
3. Required Documents (International Applicants)
All applicants must submit original documents in Korean or English. Documents in other languages must be translated
to Korean or English and notarized. Additional documents may be requested depending on the applicant's country or visa type.

4. Admission & Visa Regulations (Summary)
- If any submitted document is found to be falsified or forged, admission may be revoked and enrollment or completion records cancelled even after entry into Korea
- Submitted documents are generally not returned to applicants
- The language-training visa (D-4) for Korean Language Center students must follow Korean immigration rules. The D-4 visa is usually valid for six months and can be extended each semester
- Processing of visa applications takes approximately one month after receiving admission documents from Kyungsung University
- Any change in the student's status (address, visa type, etc.) must be reported to the immigration office and Kyungsung University according to regulations
- Students are expected to attend classes for more than 80% of the class hours in order to be promoted to the next level
- If attendance requirements are not met, students may be dismissed from the program, which may affect visa status
- A student may be permitted a leave of absence for conformable reasons such as an accident or illness (documentation required)

6. Scholarship Information
- Merit-Based Scholarships: Scholarships will be awarded differently based on outstanding students who rank within the top 28% and register for the next semester by the scholarship criteria
- Improvement Scholarships: 2% of students who make the biggest improvement compared to last semester can receive a scholarship
- Eligibility: Students must maintain good attendance and academic performance to qualify for scholarships
- Application: Scholarships are automatically considered based on semester results; no separate application required for most scholarships
